What a privilege it was to be able to interact with newcomers of Athens in the safe and colorful space of Melissa, a women's NGO in the heart of Athens. Having a multi-lingual setting with two simultaneous interpreters (Arabic and Farsi) and small children offered me a priceless learning experience (on the surface, I look like the instructor, don't be fooled by it:)
A uniquely designed farm on Whidbey Island with a sweeping view across Puget Sound to Mount Rainier welcomed its first session of writers in 1988. I am honored to be joining to hundreds of women writers who lived and worked in Hedgebrook’s cottages before, creating novels, poems, plays, screenplays, memoirs, works of non-fiction.
